No. As long as you are over 21 years of age and hold a current valid driver’s licence, your country of origin licence is acceptable. A normal car licence is all that is required to drive any of our vehicles.
No maximum age limit applies providing an appropriate valid licence is held by the hirer.
Non–English licence holders must carry an accurate English translation of their licence or an International Driving Permit while driving. The English translation document must be issued by one of the following authorities:
- The New Zealand Translation Service
- A diplomatic representative at a High Commission, Embassy or Consulate
- The authority that issued your overseas driver’s licence
All International drivers are reminded of the New Zealand driving laws, we drive on the left side of the road and it is prudent for you to acquaint yourself with the rules and regulations pertaining to driving in New Zealand prior to renting from us.
